We invite you to try flyfishing in Alaska at Rainbow River Lodge. Located 210 miles southwest of Anchorage, right on the Copper River - a "trophy trout" flyfishing river, and accessibleonly by floatplane. Their only neighbors are bear, moose, and a few million fish.

Best Time to Go…

Each of the five species of salmon enter the River at different times of the year. Rainbow fishing also changes furing the season as their food source changes in the river. June, July, August, and September all offer unique experiences. More details at website.

 

Lodge details…

The lodge accommodates just 12 fishermen each week. There are no cell towers/range but there is a satellite phone ate the lodge for your use. There is satellite Internet and wireless connections. More details at website.

 

Fishing Gear…

Sunriver Fly Shop's gear is great, but if you just don't want the hassle of traveling with your gear, the lodge will provide you with what you need: rods, reels, flies, leaders, tippet, etc! They want you to bring your own waders, though, and a good Gor-Tex jacket.

 

Getting There…

Fly in to Anchorage, Alaska. Rainbow River Lodge guests will fly from Anchorage to Iliamna on a private charter operated by Lake Clark Air. Rainbow River Lodge will schedule your flight from Anchorage to Iliamna for you.

Your flight will depart Anchorage at 4:00 pm on Saturday arriving into the village of Iliamna at 5:20 pm. You will be met as you step off the plane, then transfer you over to a Lodge floatplanes for a short 15 minute flight to Rainbow River Lodge.
