Sunriver: a fisherman's paradise!

From pine forests and towering snow-capped mountains to meandering streams and raging rivers, Central Oregon is an outdoor enthusiast's showcase. With the surrounding wilderness and national forest areas offering opportunity for mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding, skiing, snowboarding, dog-sledding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, whitewater rafting, kayaking, rock climbing, and of course, fly fishing, Central Oregon is both beautiful and fun.

First, plot the center of Oregon near the bustling town of Bend (population 90,000+). The Cascade Mountains run north to south just to the west of Bend, including the beautiful lava butte called Mt. Bachelor (elevation 9,045 ft.), about 20 miles up the road where skiing goes on from November to June.

Sunriver Area Title
Sunriver, Oregon, elevation 4,300 ft., is 15 miles south of Bend, and enjoys warm dry summers (80's) and cold, snowy winters. Plan to arrive by air from Portland, with commuter service to Redmond, Oregon. (Sunriver also has a private airport.) Travelling Highway 97, turn off to Sunriver at the Sunriver-S. Century Dr. exit!
